The Simon and Garfunkel song does now for my nostalgia bone than most songs (besides Bleecker Street). It’s about how young Paul was when he wrote the song, how much older he is now singing it and how the leaves eventually turn to brown, he’ll eventually die.
This song rings in my head all through the fall, especially when the leaves are at max changing and falling status, which is about right now.
We have a gorgeous tree out front that turns a bright yellow and then red at the tips. People stop by to take pictures even! It paints our entire front yard in this bright yellow glow, like a real life Instagram filter making everything instantly nostalgic.
I love this time of year. It always seems to go to quickly, but I’ll enjoy it while it’s here.
